Event Details

Many small businesses see marketing as a cost not an investment!  This Holiday we challenge you to explore marketing and to do so we’ve negotiated really great deals!

I’ve also seen a designer barter for a $1000 + Package get her ad out! The result 3000 Unique page views and 85000 web vies… Not one sale. Why… She was not prepared… she had no product /service menu… no stock and did not even prepare gift certificates!

So Assuming you’ve refined your product service menu is Holiday ready…  Then I’d recommend you think about these few points! How do you customers “FIND YOU”

… Usually they find you when they go looking for your

Based on need… so what do you sell, what need can you assuage or pleasure can you add
Tell someone about it!

Based on recommendation…  How can you entice others to speak about you

They accidentally come across info on you…

Social media marketing…  SEO and SEO relevant social media profiles go a LONG way!

Encourage friends to share use social media buttons. Then agin you need friends and you need to share

Ok I know you dresses  are worth $400 but consider that this is a season where a little has to go a long way…  Why should they stop buy…

So you have a service or a website… How about  membership specials or gift certificates…

What Triggers your customers…

What do you again … seriously I know each email and have no idea what  anyone is doing or who designers currently have to offer. I  help create product, Merchandise and service menus for businesses! You’d be surprised how many do not have these! I get called and lately it’s blank. Oh BTW your FB Feed is NOT working. You need to back it up with direct marketing!

Shake out your mailing list clean it up connecting to a few people each  day  can  work miracles

Join groups and speak up … in context.  Posting info on any topic to niche groups can be irritating. When you think it does too much be glad you have digital social media (As my 85 year old mentor reminded me)!

Brooklyn Fashion Week has venues for indie designers who wish to have a  retail venue and be part of Vogue Fashion Night Out Septtember 10th

Walk with your questions so we can  ensure you are ready!

We're also starting Prep for our Brooklyn Fashion WeeK Event!

August 2nd- Yes it is THIS MONDAY... but we become more and more aware of how much  help designers need

We need to have press packages ready  fro distribution by Mid August!

The Last Quarter is one of the most important  for designers (and retailers)

We are looking for designers ( who can be in NY for dates) interested in  selling to trade as well as Direct to Consumer

Please bring

* Sample of your garment, Line sheet
* List of store in NY area  You wish to sell to
* List of Press Departments :- Magazines, web, Mobile, trade you'd like to be featured in!
* Your Press collateral as well as your Sales collateral for review
* Don't have any  walk with  pen paper or Laptop and come prepared to get  the ball rolling!

Presentation & Discussion on Production, Funding and delivery options with professionals in the  field!!

Special guest Dorothy Williams on preparing Spec Package development:- Spec packages include: technical sketch (front/back of garment), fabric/trim details, construction page, trim page, grading. ( plus size, petite and missy grading.)

Please do not take images of designers' products unless you are verfied as Press and have their express permission!


All images shot at our events are for Press use only and cannot be resold!  Designers have provided their branded press info and will gladly answer your questions.  While we practice open, please respect their right to reserve divulging trade and industry info.

Press Verification Procedure
Press (including online media)  need to be verified for access to BrooklynFashionWeek.com event on April 22, 2010. We are expecting a full house and want to make sure that everyone is accorded the proper access for their various media houses!

This event is a private trade event put together by a group of designers! If you are not verified as Press you are entering the event as a private attendee and we ask that you refrain from shooting  photos and videos of designers' products unless express written permission is given to you!


Traditional Press outlets or their representatives are encouraged to register with us for hi resolton images and other info! As a member of the tech community we consider blogs and online publications - media and afford them Press privileges. We, however, ask all Press to verify their name, contact info and media outlets.  This is standard industry practice!  We respect and practice open, but we still  have a press verification procedure in place! Once we have verified you as Press you will be issued a Press pass for the event!


Fabian Burrell of Aziza PR is the only one authorized to handle Press on behalf of BrooklynFashionWeek.com!
